Lt. Col. Chik Basapa Memorial Trust: A trust started by Mrs. Indira Basapa in honour of her father, founded the Lt. Col. Chik Basapa Memorial Trust. The late Lt. Col. Chik Basapa was a great philanthropist and believed that education for the poor would help lift themselves out of their dire situation. He built a school for the workers children in 1962 and named it the Chenamma High School in memory of his mother. Today, his legacy lives on through the Lt. Col. Chik Basapa Memorial Trust.
